Susan Slapin's workshops offer a journey of discovery in which participants will have an opportunity to discover new ways to express themselves creatively. Her workshops are open to artists at all levels of experience. Whether you're just starting out by painting for the first time or want to continue developing your skills as an artist Susan encourages curiosity and self expression through her welcoming environment. The workshops are based upon Susan's many years of experience as a painter, photographer, printmaker, and art instructor.
Workshops may explore various forms of creative expression, for example:
Each workshop will give you an opportunity to be creative, learn new skills and grow creatively at your own pace.
Artists looking for a more personalized approach will benefit from one-on-one coaching with Susan. Coaching is designed to meet the needs of each participant based on their own creative aspirations and skill level.
The coaching process can assist participants in:
Whether you’re beginning your artistic journey or refining an established practice personalized coaching provides focused support and encouragement.
Many of Susan's workshops are inspired by the nature. Participants use the changing light, seasonal colors, texture and landscape for the creative source. Rather than reproduce what you see, artists learn to express their interpretation of their observation in their art. (In other words: participants take the things they have observed and create an expression based on those observations.)
Susan’s workshops welcome individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including:
No matter your skill level, the focus is on exploration, learning and enjoying the creative process.
Susan conducts workshops in an environment for participants to safely explore different ways to paint, ask questions about the process, and make choices (with no worry about failure) as they begin or continue on their individual creative journeys.
Each artist's creative journey will be unique, and every artist is invited to create art that represents his/her point-of-view, style and/or voice.
Rather than focusing solely on completing a painting, Susan encourages her students to gain confidence in their ability to create, discover new options/possibilities, and most importantly, have fun while being creative.
If you want to develop your artistic skills through new techniques, explore the world of abstract painting or just make room for creative thinking, Susan's workshops provide an inspirational environment that can help you grow as an artist and connect with other artists who are passionate about art and self-expression.
